The Straddie Salute Multisport Festival has fast become a must-do weekend on Queensland's multisport calendar.

Set on North Stradbroke Island, the Straddie Salute offers three events over two days in one big weekend of adventure. Swim the crystal clear waters in the Straddie 1000 Ocean Swim, jog along one of Queensland's most beautiful coastal trails in the Columbia Adventure Run / Walk or take up the ultimate offroad challenge, the Straddie Salute Offroad Triathlon.

It's the perfect weekend away. North Stradbroke Island boasts some of the best surfing, whalewatching, snorkeling, diving and 4WDing in Queensland so be sure to make time to sample all that the island has to offer... that includes sundowners at the iconic Straddie Beach Hotel!

The Sibelco Straddie 1000 is the latest addition to the Straddie Salute Multisport Festival and is open to anyone with a pair of boardies or a bikini.

The sheltered waters of picture perfect Cylinder Beach make for an excellent ocean swimming arena and the 1km course is achievable for any ability.

So if you're looking for a new swimming challenge or just want a shot at the cash ($500 to 1st Male & Female), enter the Straddie 1000 and kick start your weekend away!

The Columbia 8km Adventure Run / Walk is a less challenging but equally breathtaking 8km scenic tour of Point Lookout.

Open to all fitness levels, the course starts near the Point Lookout Domain and includes roads, paths, beaches and of course one of Queensland's most beautiful coastal trails.

There are great Columbia category & spot prizes up for grabs, electronic timing and all competitors are eligible for the Festival Major Prize Draw.

• 750m Ocean Swim
