In only its third year, The Straddie Salute is fast becoming an iconic, must-do event on Queensland's multisport calendar.

Swim, bike and run your way around one of Queensland’s most beautiful island destinations and salute the last of the Humpback Whales as they migrate south on their annual pilgrimage.

Set on North Stradbroke Island, the Straddie Salute is a breathtaking experience on Brisbane’s doorstep. Swim the crystal clear waters, ride the scenic 4WD tracks and roads and run along one of the most beautiful coastal trails in Queensland.  Take up the challenge or grab a couple of mates, enter a team and join the fun!

• 600m Ocean Swim
• 18km Mountain Bike (Offroad & road)
• 8km Coastal Run

NEW EVENT!  The Unimin Straddie 1000 Ocean Swim

The Unimin Straddie 1000 is the latest addition to The Straddie Salute's weekend of events and is open to anyone with a bikini or a pair of boardies.

The calm waters of Cylinder Beach provide the perfect setting for the 1.0km course which is achievable for any ability.

So whether it's a new ocean swimming experience you're looking for or the cash prize of $1000 you're chasing (winner takes all!), make sure you're on the island by 3:00pm Saturday 9th for Queensland's newest ocean swim.

The Straddie Beach Hotel Fun Run & Walk

The 8km Fun Run & Walk is a less challenging but equally breathtaking scenic tour of Point Lookout. Open to all fitness levels, the course starts on George Nothling Drive and follows the Straddie Salute run course along Main Beach and the stunning Point Lookout coastal trails.
