Breakfast duo up for the challengenovaboy_station_mousdash

Ash Bradnam and David ‘Luttsy' Lutterall are no strangers to a challenge, so accepting the invitation to put their sneakers to the tarmac for men's health during Movember was a no brainer.

On Sunday November 13 the boys will join thousands of Queenslanders to take on the third annual Nova 106.9 Mousdash Fun Run & Walk - a 10.5km run over the iconic Mt Coot-tha.

The duo recently returned to the airways joining forces with former B105 announcer Camilla Severi to form Nova 106.9's new-look breakfast team.

Asked if there were any nerves leading into the event, Bradnam responded "it's certainly a challenging course, but I've got a few mates joining me so we'll be grinding out the uphill together!"

Lutterall added "I'm not sure which challenge will intimidate guys more - a 10km run or trying to grow a moustache for Movember!"

The Mousdash was launched in 2009 and raises funds and awareness for men's health issues through the Movember Foundation, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.

The 10.5km run course consists of one clockwise loop of Mt Coot-tha from the Botanic Gardens on Mt Coot-tha Rd and there is also a 5km Summit Walk for those that are happy with a more leisurely pace.

Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.1 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate worldwide.

In 2010, over 130,000 Australian Mo Bros and Sistas got on board, raising $25 Million AUD.

John Guise, Director of Weekend Warrior Events, creators of the Mousdash, commented that interest in this year's event has been overwhelming and the new team option was proving popular.

"In the past the event has been an individual challenge, but the new ‘Threesome' teams option requires teams of three to start together, run together and finish together...it's proving very popular with corporate groups and clubs"

Guise went on to add that female participation in the event was on the rise "Movember is sometimes perceived to be just a blokey affair, so the Mousdash provides an opportunity for Mo Sistas to play an active part in the Movember campaign"

Both Bradnam and Lutterall admitted that they probably won't be lifting any winners trophies on November 13, but in true weekend warrior spirit are keen to take up a new challenge for a very worthy cause.
