The Cooly Classic - Coolangatta Ocean Swim

Coolangatta is world famous for its surf culture and the Cooly Classic celebrates the very essence of this iconic location - sun, sand & surf.

Swim the Cooly Classic and conquer three of Australia's most revered surf breaks - Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta and Kirra.

Whether you're an ironman or ironwoman contender looking for a hit-out, or a newcomer to ocean swimming, the Cooly Classic has an option for you.

Your Options:

The main event starts at the popular Snapper Rocks surf break and follows the coast north passing Rainbow Bay, Greenmount and Coolangatta enroute to the finish at legendary Kirra Beach.

The Cooly Classic also features the NEW Gold Coast Bulletin Cooly 1000, a 1.0km short course option from Coolangatta to Kirra Beach.  This is a perfect introduction for less experienced ocean swimmers and retains the popular point-to-point format.

This event is the perfect introduction to open water swimming for kids and also gives them an opportunity to enjoy the thrill of a beach sprint finish.

This is a free, fun event for kids aged 10 years and older.

Kirra Beach - 1hr 15 mins south of Brisbane.

The Cooly Classic course was also designed to allow your support crew (family and friends) to follow your progress and walk the beach before meeting you at the finish line. We encourage you to invite your family and friends and take a great day out at on the Southern Gold Coast...only a 1hr 15 min drive from Brisbane.
