Kings of the Coast - Caloundra Ocean Swim | March 09, 2014
Queensland Ocean Swim Series | Event #3
Whether you're a competitive swimmer or a weekend warrior, the Kings of the Coast Ocean Swim is your chance to conquer iconic open water distances - 3.8km, 2km, 1km or a free 300m Kids Dash.
Test your mettle in the ultimate open water challenge - a 3.8km ironman distance swim at one of natures great open water arenas, Kings Beach.
An ironman distance swim is not for the faint hearted, but with a popular two lap format, this course provides the perfect opportunity to take on the iconic 3.8km distance.
In 2013, a new distance was introduced - the 2km Caloundra 2.0. This event is a great stepping stone after the Mooloolaba Mile and an ideal hit-out for triathletes ahead of their next Olympic distance race.
The Caloundra 1000 Short Course is the perfect introduction for less experienced ocean swimmers and retains the popular point-to-point format on Kings Beach.
The 300m Kids Dash is a great introduction to open water swimming for kids and also gives them an opportunity to enjoy the thrill of a beach sprint finish!
This is a free, fun event for kids aged 8 years and older. We also encourage family & friends to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids.
Every participant receives a Finishers Certificate signed by Event Ambassador, Michael Klim.
Trophies and product prizes will be awarded to the winners of each event and in 2014, elite swimmers will have the opportunity to compete for the overall Kings of the Coast Championship.
A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the male and female with the best overall results in both the 3.8km & 1.0km events. In the event of a points tie, the winner will be determined by the best combined times.
